Soirée d'hier- SnB night

Soirée Tricot-thé en anglais hier soir avec Emily et une nouvelle recrue, Mary, venue des environs de Bourg St Maurice .. Une excellente soirée, très très sympa, et on a même sorti les aiguilles ce coup ci ! (même si perso je n'ai fait qu'un ou deux rangs, il faut que je me trouve un tricot tout droit pour ces soirées sinon à chaque fois je me trompe, c'est dur de compter en même temps qu'on papote !!)

Merci à Mary pour sa visite, on espère te revoir dans le coin de temps en temps, et on viendra peut-être te faire un coucou fin aout !




Yesterday was our SnB night and we had a new recruit : Mary from around Brg St Maurice spent the evening with Emily and I. We had a great time chatting away .. and Hey, we probably already crossed paths in Wanaka, NZ a few years ago.. also Look, she made an Isabeau purse !! First time I meet in person sb who's knit something from my patterns...;-P

I'm so happy I've met those ladies (along with Berry, the 4th lady of our SnB, not there yesterday), it feels great both to make new friends and occasionally to talk about knitting, Etsy and all the blogosphere in general.. And Mary even showed us some tricks, it was nice to share knowledge..

Too hot to knit.

Last night, Sylvie and I met for a night of knitting. It'd been awhile since we'd seen each other so we spent most of the night chatting away. I had yet to start knitting a new project and was not thrilled that I brought wool yarn with me. It was too hot last night to touch wool. Really too hot to do anything, but sit still. I enjoyed sipping Orangina's and catching up with Sylvie. :)

Tricoter dehors en terrasse parraissait pourtant une bonne idée !

..sauf l'autre cretin aussi qui a essayé toute la soirée de démarrer sa mobylette à grands renforts de pétarade.. ;-)

Mais bon tout ça c'est pas grave parce qu'on a passé encore une très bonne soirée à pipeletter, tricoter, échanger des recettes de cuisine.. :-D

En revanche, AVIS : les 2 prochains rdv risquent d'être reportés,

C'est juin?

Last night, Sylvie and I met up again after I was gone for a couple weeks. Hopefully, someday soon the entire group will get to knit/crochet together (we missed you Berry!). This time, we decided to sit outside our meeting place and knit. Since it's summer and the nights are (supposed to be) warmer, than let's enjoy some knitting outdoors!

We froze our butts off.

We were drinking tisane and zipping/buttoning up our sweaters as far as possible in order not to freeze to death. But, it's June?

I'm currently working on a present for another volunteer I work with. A scarf. I missed her birthday while I was on vacation. It's time for me to branch away from scarves. But, I have no idea where to go...

Un cadeau pour ma mère.

Last night, was my first night with the Tricot Thé knitting group. I had a great time chatting and knitting. I did make a few mistakes that I briefly named after Sylvie (I name all my mistakes after the person who was talking to me at the time), but she quickly helped fix them so now they no longer exist. It was great to have a knitting expert nearby when I did make mistakes and couldn't figure out how I made them or how to correct them. This is a photo of a scarf I just finished today and will be giving to my mom when I see her next week while visiting the US. Sadly, the mohair in the yarn made me sneeze and I'm afraid it'll make her sneeze too. :(

Second rdv

Notre second rdv c'était donc jeudi soir dernier, toujours au même endroit...

Une soirée très agréable, plus détendue pour ma part... Comme quoi on s'habitue très vite à "tricoter en public" !! Et puis comme on commence à se connaitre plus avec Berry, on a papoté comme 2 vieilles copines !! C'est tellement agréable de pouvoir parler tricot et crochet avec une quelqu'un d'autre ! :-D

J'ai posé des flyers samedi dans 3 magasins de laine d'Annecy, des fois qu'on arrive à recruter de la compagnie..

A jeudi, cette fois avec Emily qui nous rejoint...!!

Petit résumé du premier rendez-vous

Mardi soir a été une grande première pour moi, je pouvais enfin partager ma passion avec une fée du tricot.
On avait chacune un gros sac avec nos bouquins favoris, nos fils et nos ouvrages en cours, dans un café comme "entre ciel et terre", c'est plutôt inattendu et on nous regardait un peu comme des extra-terrestres, des bêtes curieuses mais c'était génial! Et puis on s'en fichait pas mal, le nez dans notre ouvrage! J'espère vraiment que ces rencontres dureront très longtemps et j'ai hâte d'être à jeudi soir! En plus, c'est vraiment pas désagréable de laisser les enfants pour une soirée et en profiter pour faire en public du crochet (ou du tricot).
Vraiment, si vous habitez la région annécienne et que vous aussi vous partagez cette passion pour les arts du fil, quel que soit votre niveau, rejoignez-nous : plus on est de fous, plus on rit !!!
Si vous n'avez pas de moyen de transport, je pourrai venir vous chercher, ainsi, vous n'avez plus d'excuse !!!
A jeudi les filles et vive le crochet !
